For your information.
We are aware that many members of the Community of visitors to Tottenham Park Cemetery are respectful of the environment and considerate towards other users. However, we thought we would share with you a photograph taken on 22nd August 2018, which show that despite a skip being made available, for the extra rubbish that might accumulate during this particular period, this was left virtually empty while people chose to pile their rubbish from their graves on the floor. We would like to point out the skip was in addition to the 6 bins that are always present in the Cemetery. The photographs show the skip is a short walk from where the rubbish has been piled.
There is continued on-going maintenance, removal of masonry and clearance of weeds being carried out in the Cemetery. Notices have been placed on graves to inform the holder of the right of burial that they need to carry out works on their grave and to keep the space clear of rubbish, weeds, overgrown plants. This is a mandatory requirement. We are continually committed to working with the Community to ensure that the Cemetery is maintained and this will require input from all parties. Please contact this office on 01375891440 if you require any further information.
Litter picking - can visitors please not drop rubbish within the Cemetery grounds - on just one occasion we found a used nappy, plastic sandwich wrappers, old discarded flowers and their wrappers thrown on the ground. There are plenty of bins paid and provided for by the Company to prevent this happening. We also observed someone drive to the bin throw the rubbish from the car, which missed the bin and landed on the floor, the people drove off leaving their rubbish on the ground. Everyone needs to work together to keep the Cemetery tidy.
